day 1 - friday

We will be transported from Alta and the ski expedition starts from Suossjavri, located in the middle of Finnmark . We follow the riverbed up on the plateau and the land formations will protect us against bad weather and heavy wind. The distance this day is approx. 22 km and we will reach Nedre Mollisjokk Mountain Cabin during the evening, where we will be served a delicious dinner. We will try to find our beds early this night, because tomorrow we will cross the biggest lake on the Finnmark Plateau: Iesjavri. That means hours of skiing in exposed wilderness.

day 2 - saturday

We wake up well refreshed and ready for a new long day. This day we will be skiing for many hours and travel a distanse of 34 km, crossing Iesjavri. You will feel small in the magnificent surroundings of today's leg. Just when the body starts to feel like it's had enough, we reach a new mountain cabin: Jotka. Another homemade dinner awaits us at the table. This evening we don't have to go early to bed, beacause tomorrow we'll just have the charm stage back to settlement. Maybe this will be the evening for your greatest Northern Light experience!

day 3 - sunday

Today we probably wake up with tired bodies and blisters on our heels, and we'll be pleased that the easiest stage remains. We can adjust the stage after the weather and the condition of the group. We will cross two smaller lakes before we get to the road. The distance to the pick up point will be between 8 and 18 km, depending on your wishes/ skill level. During todays skiing you will probably be dreaming of a warm shower and a comfortable sofa. But on the other hand, you'll wish the trip lasted longer. Maybe you're allready planing a new adventure to the arctic. You will nevertheless end up with a connection to Finnmark that lasts a lifetime.

Preperation: On friday morning everything has to be ready for the trip. All your personal equipment and clothing is packed and you're dressed for skiing. We start the day with a cup of coffee in our showroom, a little talk and look at the map. We put our luggage and skies in the car and leave Alta after a short hour.

Equipment: You will receive a complete package list after you have booked the trip. Here is a short summary of the equipment and clothing you'll need on this trip. If you have any questions please contact us!

You must be capable to pull or carry your own equipment. But we do not have to bring heavy food or many tents, as we are staying in mountain cabins. Also, to pull a sled on snow is a lot easier than carrying the equipment in a backpack. We have sleds for rental.

If you want to leave your sleeping bag at home and instead sleep with duvet and pillow, we can arange that. There will be an addition in the price of 500 NOK per person for two nights.

We will be back in Alta Sunday evening latest at 16:00. If you have a flight back home this evening, and want to take a shower before the travel, you can pay a entrance fee to Nordlysbadet - 140NOK - Then you can also take advantage of the water park with water slide, outdoor hot tub, sauna and swimming pool.
