DESCRIPTION

From late October to mid February some of the world’s biggest mammals visit the coast outside Troms and Finnmark to feed on herrings. The most common whale species we see are the humpback whale, killer whale (orca), harbor porpoise and sometimes even the fin whale. You are invited to join us to take a close-up look at the feast. We depart Thuesday and Friday at 9:00 from NORD Ekspedisjon – Explorer store. Other days/ groups on request. First part of the journey is a 1H10MIN drive to our harbor and prepare our safari with the correct equipment for the boat trip in our RIB (Open boat). Once we reach the whale feeding site, we stay for 1 and 1/2 hours. Please note that whale sightings cannot be guaranteed. We have qualified guide with us that will give you instructions about the safety rules on board and give you presentation about the whales you can spot during our trip.

Starting point: NORD Ekspedisjon Explorer Store, Løkkeveien 33 (100 meters from Scandic and 200 meteres from Thon Hotel)

What to bring: Bring warm clothing. We recommend woollen Underwear, woollen socks and a warm hat, who you can be bought in our Explorer store. Bring also warm boots and mittens.

You will get: Winter Thermo floating suits, life west and glasses from us.
